What an awesome list! Well done! Now, just as the man on this staircase will turn the corner and begin to climb to a new level, so will we. Thankful for what we’ve accomplished, and joyfully anticipating where God will lead us on the next flight of life’s stairs.

Dawn Snuffer and Davine Calkins will host a how-to class. Join us as we create a lapbook and walk through a day of a unit study.  We will also have many examples and many ideas to help get you started.  Monday, August 5, 7pm. Location will be announced as the  date get closer based on how many register.  Come and get inspired and learn to create wonderful learning memories with your children.

Celebrate THEO’s 30th anniversary with us at Coast Guard Park in Grand Haven on July 13 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. The basketball courts, soccer field, baseball diamond, playground and pavilion will all be available for us to make this a great day! Games and activities are planned, and meat for grilling and paper products will be provided. pencil-iconTHIRD SATURDAY HOMESCHOOL BONFIRE GATHERING

We are inviting all homeschoolers or those interested in homeschooling to bonfires, on the third Saturday of each month at the Bradfield’s. This is an opportunity for the whole family to come and have fun. We are planning on doing this May through September. Mark it on your calendar now before it fills up as we know the summer does.

Where: 4384 Putnam Rd., Muskegon, MI 49445
Dates: June 15, July 20, August 17, and Sept 21
Time: 6.00pm to ??

Directions: Take US 31 to the Russell Road exit (Michigan Adventure exit). Turn north/right onto Russell Road. Go 1 mile to the stop light/Riley Thompson Rd. Turn east/right. Go 1 mile to Putnam Road turn south/right. Go ¼ mile and we are on the left hand side of road.
From Fremont: Take M-120 (Holton Road) south. Go through Twin Lake and about two miles after the flasher in Twin Lake is Riley Thompson Road. (Pink Ice Cream building on corner) Turn right or west and go 2 ½ miles to Putnam Road turn left or south go ¼ mile and we are on the left hand side of road.

We have a very large Gaga/Octo Ball pit so the more people we have the better. We also have a sand box, small slide 2 swings, and tires to play on. You may want to bring: Lawn chairs, flash lights (to play flashlight tag) and bug spray. If your family didn’t have time to eat at home feel free to bring Hot Dogs/burgers and Buns for your family. If you want to bring a dish to pass you may. I will have lemonade, marshmallows, plates, cups, roasting sticks, a grill and condiments.

If you have fun ideas feel free to bring it or call and I can help plan it. This is very laid back and flexible.

Hey Kids! Are you looking for an opportunity to explore your acting skills and have a blast with friends?Parents, are you looking for affordable ways to keep your kids entertained and challenged in the arts this summer without the use of a screen or anything electronic??Homeschool teachers, are you perhaps looking for sneaky ways to give your kids a little bit of “culture” without them realizing it?If so, Living Books Theater Summer Arts Camps might be just what you are looking for. For the past twelve years, Living Books Theater has been providing theater experience to homeschoolers and now for the second summer will be offering summer camps to both homeschooled and non-homeschooled students. Kids will develop their talents in the various aspects of theater, including creative drama, acting, improvisation, stagecraft, and more. This year, we have added an all-day camp that also includes visual art, broadway-type vocal music and experimenting with the new cool instrumental music called Boomwhackers! (See http://boomwhackers.com/ for more information).Camp teachers will be Faith Hinken (drama), Jera Leffring (music), and Elise Hinken (art) as well as assistants.Three fun-filled Camps to choose from for kids entering 1-12th grades. Camps run during weeks of June 17-21 and June 24-29 and meet either at Bridge Bible Church in Norton Shores or Fruitport Christian Reformed Church in downtown Fruitport (Easy access from either Highways 96 or 31). Camps are either half or whole days depending on the age group and meet five days a week culminating in an end-of-week informal and entertaining performance. 5:00 pm – Class offerings and sign up begins

Contact Julie Mockerman to reserve a table. Class offerings need to be offered by homeschooling families and the class must be offered to home-educated children. If interested in offering a class for the 2013-2014 school year, send your info to newsletter@mytheo.org with class title, costs, number of students (minimum and maximum), where the class will be held, age group that will be included and any necessary details.

pencil-iconSENIOR AND FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS in exchange for mission trip donations!

Help Hope and Brea Hinken raise money for their mission trip to Guatemala this summer! They will be traveling to Guatemala from June 22nd-July 1st with their church to serve in the areas of construction, children’s ministry and medical care. Hope is willing to provide photo sessions (with Brea assisting) in exchange for your donations for their trip. Here are two ways to participate:

Father’s Day Outdoor Portrait Mini-session:
For a great father’s day gift have portraits taken of mom and the kids, or just the kids!
Next week, Thursday, June 6th, or Saturday, June 8th, Hope will be doing mini portrait sessions at Hoffmaster State Park.   Sign up for a time for a mini half-hour outdoor portrait shoot and receive a high resolution cd of 10-20 fully edited photos and copyright release for you to print at your leisure.  You will receive your cd by June 12—still time to make prints for Father’s Day. Suggested minimum donation: $30.

Longer Photo sessions by appointment: Seniors, Family, Babies, Engagements
Photo sessions are for 1-3 hours long, and include a high resolution cd of at least 50 fully edited photos and copyright release for you to print at your leisure. Suggested donation: $60 on up—depending on the length of the photo shoot.
All donations are tax-deductible and can be addressed to Bridge Bible Church.

With years of shooting pictures as well as completing several courses in the photography, Hope has a good understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of photography.
She loves to explore creative options in her compositions as well as work primarily with natural lighting.
